Navigating a Changing International Trade Paradigm

Navigating a Changing International Trade Paradigm

Tuesday, September 9, 2025 (11:30 AM - 2:00 PM) (CDT)

Description

Join MITA on September 9th to learn how in just 6 months, the Trump Administration has upended an international trade legal and policy framework. A framework adopted in the years following World War II and committed to over decades by Administrations of both political parties no longer exists.

Myles Getlan & Thomas Beline with the Cassidy Levy Kent LLP office in Washington DC will provide an overview of new international trade measures and initiatives. They will share their expertise in a conversation concerning the political and legal context for these recent developments. In their day-to-day practice, Myles and Tom routinely engage with senior policymakers in the Trump Administration and on Capitol Hill. They will impart insights gained to help inform where U.S. policy makers may be headed. Don’t miss out on learning how your organization can navigate the current complex landscape affected by international trade policy and regulatory changes.

Our third speaker Korey Garceau, will address Foreign Trade Zones and how businesses can utilize this federal program to reduce, defer, or eliminate duties on goods. Korey will explain the steps to becoming an activated FTZ facility and further examine the benefits realized by operators.
